A Tale of Two Cities

When it comes to theories about why Europe is currently suffering the sort of problems it is, the progressive left are still working from the outdated 70’s mantra that all of this is due to not very clever people getting upset about immigrants stealing jobs and looking for someone to blame.

This one dimensional, over simplified position illustrates how far they’ve had to developed their thinking since the 1970’s.

Contrast this position with the clarity and depth of understanding displayed by Douglas Murray, Peter Hitchens or Rex Murphy on the crisis in Europe and it is quite clear who has been doing some serious thinking on the subject.

For decades the left has controlled the narrative and shamed into silence or shouted down anyone who had legitimate concerns over mass Muslim immigration. They could simply post it in, over dinner parties and in bars, knowing that they would not be challenged or have to examine their porous position. Such was the power of the self-policing liberal tyranny, especially in Europe. No one dared say anything.

But in doing so they have slowly set the spring for a backlash that is only now just starting to gain momentum. This reality is, of course, unlikely to ever occur to them.  And as the situation becomes undeniably unsustainable for all but the most ideologically insane, what we are increasingly hearing and seeing is panic from those who have helped create the mess and feel that the tide is turning against them. You know something’s deeply awry when you see a piece by George Soros in The Guardian.

They have been willing helpers in the engineered destruction of European culture by our political & financial elite through a program of Coercive Engineered Migration. The only nations not drinking the Kool-Aid ironically are the former Soviet block countries, who were spared decades of societal erosion from a program of sustained cultural marxism. And that must be embarrassing.

The leaders of Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary are not xenophobic fascists for resisting the same fate for their nations as German, Belgium or France. This is not about jobs or scapegoating minorities in hard times. This is simply now about the survival of Western culture and putting an end to failed policies that are destroying otherwise stable societies.

Sex, Lies, and Media Coverage

Douglas Murray on the media’s reluctant coverage of the New Year’s Eve mass rapes in Europe, and the state of discussion of such things:

This is a shame, because some free thought and discussion about what is going on could have been useful at an earlier stage. Last year, when Angela Merkel flung open Germany’s borders anyone who said, ‘Are you sure you know what you’re doing?’ was shouted down with cries of ‘racist’. Then, after about a million more people had come into the country even Chancellor Merkel started to wonder who they all were and whether they had all the right Germanic ideas. One minister finally said that they weren’t keen on letting many more anti-Semites into Germany. And now in the wake of the New Year’s Eve attack some politicians are saying they don’t really want people who aren’t even up to speed with even last millennia’s views on women. Perhaps it is too late and German women will indeed have to follow the advice of the Mayor of Cologne and take more care when out on the streets (‘No skirts. No trousers. Have you considered this lovely burka madam?’) Or perhaps an intensive period of workshops with new arrivals will settle it all amicably and swiftly. I suppose we will just have to hope so. In the meantime it turns out that the German police have been caught mis-representing the facts about who was doing the New Year’s Eve raping., and so we are now in the far more dangerous place where lies become the preserve not only of the fourth estate, but of the state itself.

Also discussed: the cops being MIA during the attacks but very quick to come down on anyone opposing them, be it firing water cannons at protestors outraged by the rapes or the continued persecution of people like Tommy Robinson (ex-EDL, now Pegida UK):

I mention that case because it is a reminder that instinctive reaction to the Cologne case is symptomatic of a much wider problem. With Pegida protests in German today being fired on by police with water-cannons that problem of attacking the reaction rather than the problem (where were the water cannons on New Year’s Eve?) has rarely seemed starker.

Self-righteous do-gooder whines that other people need to do more for her pet cause

Boo hoo hooo… Do-gooder privately sponsors a family of seven from Syrian, gets her panties in a bunch when landlords aren’t interested in renting to them.

The conversations started off well. “And then when I mentioned seven people and Syrian refugees, the tone changed. So we didn’t even go and look,” she said.

The landlords switched from enthusiasm to downright discouragement. They described the bedrooms as small, or said they preferred long-term tenants, she recalled.

“This is a humanitarian crisis. … My feeling was that people should just step up and do that little bit extra,” said Ms. Onufryk, who is part of a sponsorship group called Abraham’s Children Together that is a partnership of a church, a synagogue and an Islamic association.

Hmm… funny… why can’t the family just live in her house? Or does she not want them there, preferring someone else foot the bill and provide the shelter she signed on for when she sponsored them? Why is it “people” (ie, not her) who need to “step up and do that little bit extra.”

Oh, and of course she assumes it’s because of racism instead of landlords get to decide whether or not they want a family of seven with no current means of support in their privately owned two-bedroom apartments.

One landlord told her he would not rent to Syrian refugees and then hung up.

“Being an affluent, blonde white woman, I’ve never really experienced any prejudice in Canada. And so when someone told me they wouldn’t rent because I was asking about Syrian refugees, I was flabbergasted,” she said.

Affluent, huh? Again, what about her house?

Spoiler alert: they got an apartment at $400 below market price. In other news, the waiting list for regular folks to get into affordable housing is 10 years in Ontario, but who cares about regular folks anyway?

As always, the comments are better than the actual article:

If these refugees are “sponsored”, the sponsors should co-sign the leases, otherwise what is their sponsorship worth? If they are not willing to take on the financial risk of the refugees they have sponsored, why should the landlord?

Too bad this woman isn’t so quick to help find affordable housing for Canadians struggling with low income, low paying jobs and the high cost of rental housing.

I don’t really see why there is a problem. I read in the G&M comments over the last couple of months 20 or 30 people say they would take in a family – and that was only in the G&M. You mean they didn’t take them in?

What to name a feminist book club?

uglyfeministcomic

Apparently Harry Potter actress Emma Watson needs a little help coming up with lines that aren’t written for her, or at least with names for her new “feminist book club”, so she reached out on Twitter for suggestions, according to a new fluff piece on Breitbart.

We were going to suggest Tomes For Twats, but apparently her mind’s already made up as she went with the rather socialist-sounding “Our Shared Shelf.”

Broken clock Piers Morgan: right twice in one day

Larry King wannabe Piers Morgan has somehow managed to be right about not one but two things in a recent column for The Daily Mail referencing some dumb stunt that Ellen Degeneres pulled on some dumb awards show involving showing a shirtless pic of some dumb actor and comparing it to some cricket player flirting with a female reporter (who shot him down anyway) before comparing it to the backdrop of the New Year’s Eve rape mobs:

But true gender equality surely dictates that both sexes should be held to equal behavioural judgement?

…And on a wider point, it was fascinating and frankly disturbing to see ‘Gayle-gate’ attracting wider attention, comment and news coverage around the world than the appalling incident in Cologne, Germany where over 1000 men of Arab and North African origin sexually assaulted dozens of innocent women on New Year’s Eve.

Particularly as the female Mayor of Cologne, Henriette Reker, shockingly seemed to put the onus on women to stop these attacks happening again – suggesting a ‘code of conduct’ they should adopt including maintaining an arm’s length distance from strangers.

If a male mayor has said this, all hell would have broken loose, and he’d have probably, and rightly, lost his job.

Sexism, in all its myriad guises, is a bad thing – let’s all agree on that.

But so is hypocrisy.

Enjoy it while it lasts, it might be a long time before we agree with Morgan on anything ever again.

Jenner flops on ticket sales too

jenner 2

Just as his TV show I Am Cait has turned out to be a ratings flop (despite all the spin from media), it seems no one really wants to see Bruce Caitlyn Jenner in person either. Jenner “quietly cancelled” a five-city speaking tour due to low ticket sales:

We spoke to the Toronto venue and they told us there were still “a lot” of tix left for Caitlyn’s speaking engagement when she backed out. Despite that, we’re told it was absolutely canceled purely due to the scheduling issues.

Jenner’s appearance was to be part of the long-standing series Unique Lives and Experiences, which describes itself as “developed in response to women’s requests for intellectual entertainment and provides them with a forum for meaningful dialogue and stimulating interaction.”

Yeah, we can see how a member of the Kardashian clan would be hard-pressed to appeal to their target audience, what with the whole “meaningful” and “intellectual” requirements.

Remember the Summer of Love?

images

Well, now it’s winter in Europe, and the hangover from the drunken decision to import hundreds of thousands of military aged Muslim men into Western Europe has only just begun. Those who say this wasn’t predictable are frankly, idiots.

But we will go a step further and predict that Angela Merkel will go from Time Magazine’s Person of the Year to sharing the same fate as Oliver Cromwell, with the German people posthumously digging her up to hang her within a generation.

The only countries that did not drink the Kool-Aid it seems are the former Soviet block nations who, ironically, have not been exposed to decades of cultural marxism, and therefore still retain some cultural identity, integrity and common sense.

Occupy Movement Ready To Mobilize Over Bundy Ranch Stand Off

jewels-crusties-and-cat-1024x768

Originally from 2013, this just goes to show how little has changed:

Occupy forces that have been sat in barracks for over two years now woke up this morning to discover that they were once again being mobilized, but that this time they would find themselves fighting on the same side as the forces of corporate cronyism that they stood against in 2011.

In a bizarre twist of My enemy’s enemy is my friend, string-weaving street punks and shouty one-dimensional leftie students across the continent awoke this morning to be told by the liberal media that Cliven Bundy was a rich greedy landowner supported by domestic terrorists trying to take food stamps off millions of poor children, whom the federal government was duty bound to protect along with the interests of Nevadan Senator Harry Reid.

The stand off between Bundy, his supporters and the federal government over cattle grazing rights has proven politically divisive in North America, with many on the liberal left now realizing that they hate white farmers in rural America more than they hate corrupt bankers and their political errand boys in Washington. The logic seemingly being: that if you have food stamps, you don’t need farmers.

The speed and enthusiasm with which the liberal left has jumped aboard the totalitarian government regime train should alarm everyone. Various liberal news outlets continue to bay for blood and salivate on air over the prospect of a Waco style takedown of Bundy & his supporters, which according to former Texan Senator Ron Paul, could still be very much on the cards.

Whatever the eventual outcome of this drama, it should be abundantly clear to anyone and virtually impossible for the progressive left to argue that they want a gun ban for anything other than political & strategic reasons.

Those of us who entertained the idea that we were all on the same side have been given a wake up call; this crisis has served to illuminate that the progressive liberal left are the all-too-willing tools of government, and hungry for a bit of state murder.

For the time being just be glad that they can’t shoot, or even be trusted to maintain their weapon.

Well, if you’d stop putting your ass within groping distance, then…

New Year’s Eve festivities in Germany, particularly Cologne, were a little extra touchy-feely, after a thousand newly arrived not-so Deutsch-y dudes spent New Year’s Eve hanging around a train station getting their grope on with uncooperative local gals, 120 of whom went to the local cops (and at least 2 of the girls weren’t just groped but raped).

In response, Cologne’s Mayor Henriette Reker had a meeting with the chief of police to figure out how to make sure this doesn’t happen again, and then decided to scold the women for asking for it by walking about in public places not taking appropriate precautions to avoid being victimized.

From the Independent:

The crisis management team said prevention measures should include a code of conduct for young women and girls, and Mayor Reker said the existing code of conduct will be updated online.

The suggested code of conduct includes maintaining an arm’s length distance from strangers, to stick within your own group, to ask bystanders for help or to intervene as a witness, or to inform the police if you are the victim of such an assault.

TL;DR version of Mayor Reker’s remarks: stop putting yourself within groping distance, you temptresses.

Surprisingly for a continent so terrified of being called a racist that they usually offer their own girls up as sacrificial lambs to the slaughter and look the other way, people got pissed when the mayor basically told women it was their own fault.

Even more so when the police describe the gropey mob as a “peaceful” celebration.

Oh, and it wasn’t just Cologne. Similar things happened all over Germany on New Year’s Eve, and have been happening since the country started getting invaded enriched with its hundreds of thousands of refujihadis simple folks looking for a better life in Germany this summer.

Not to mention that avoiding being within arm’s reach assumes the creeps are all stuck in place and can’t simply move to get within arm’s reach anyway. Also, if all the closest bystanders are also trying to feel you up, exactly what sort of help will they be giving?

As we like to say here at ABP, this is what a real rape culture looks like, or at least, this is what it looks like when you import a million members of a real rape culture.

High fashion hijabs from dhimmi Dolce & Gabbana

Dolce & Gabbana are taking a little break from designing for Hollywood ho-bags and metrosexual dudes with eating disorders to do something a little more modest: hijabs and abaya cloaks for Muslim women.

Not sure how modest the fashion shoot for them was, though. I mean, you can see their feet and ankles, they’re wearing red nail polish, which was a big no-no as far as the Taliban was concerned anyway, and just look at that slut on the top left with the bare forearms:

Dolce & Gabbana abaya collection 2016

As Pamela Geller puts it:

Cultural jihad from a gay couple, no less. Dolce & Gabbana has revealed the Italian fashion house’s first hijab collection on Instagram. Dolce & Gabbana is designing fashion for an ideology that calls for their deaths. Madness. Imagine Jews designing for members of the Nazi party during the 1940s.

Hey, makes sense, sorta: happy wife, happy life, right? So if you get the wives loving your brand, maybe the husbands will throw you off the building last? Worth a shot, I suppose.
